Watch Me (Private Listing #1)

“You want me to hire the usual people?” Coop asks.

I nod. There are people in our world who cross the lines and know how to find people, even when they want to disappear.

“We need to take it slow with her.” Noah’s gaze lingers on the interrogation room. “This might take her time to get over.”

That’s the thing. She might need time and space after this. She was fucking attacked.

“We can let her make that decision.” Coop stands and stretches his muscles. He glances at his phone. “I’m ordering in some real coffee. This shit isn’t great.”

“You can’t have someone bring you coffee to a police station,” Blake says.

“I’m a Graham.” Coop smirks. “We make the world go round.”

“Cocky bastard,” Blake mutters.

Noah just shakes his head. When the interrogation door opens, he springs to his feet. The detective leads Madison over to us. I step forward, and Madison takes my offered hand as I pull her into my arms. The tension eases out of her as she rests her head on my chest.

She doesn’t pull away or flinch. That’s good.

“We’ll let you know if we have any more questions.” The detective turns and walks away.

I rub my hand down Madison’s spine, and she presses in close to me with a little shiver. We shouldn’t have let her go. My gaze meets those of my friends, my brothers. It’s reflected in their eyes as they look at her.

“Are you ready to go home, Madison?”

Her wide blue eyes lift to mine and my gut twists. It’s been a long night. She smiles and nods.

When the elevator opens to the apartment floor, Blake rushes forward to open the door.

“I can walk,” I mention once again. Not that anyone is listening to me. My throat hurts with every word.

Noah shifts me in his arms and gives me a look before carrying me into the apartment.

It’s late. Like the sun is peeking over the horizon late. The guys kept ahold of me while I was in the hospital. Grasping my hand, touching my leg. The doctor said I was fine and that my throat may be sore for a while, but to just take it easy. I’ll have a few bruises courtesy of Val and her psycho boyfriend, but overall, no worse for wear.

The police station took forever, but the guys stayed with me throughout it. I don’t know what to feel, except extremely grateful. I haven’t had someone to look out for me in a really long time.

Cooper opens the door to what will be my apartment. Noah carries me through to the bedroom and sets me on the ridiculously enormous bed.

When I try to rise, Noah pushes me back down. I grab his hand.

“I have to go to the bathroom.” I blush as he starts to pick me up. “Alone.”

His eyes narrow on me, but I reach up and cup his jaw. “Thank you for taking such good care of me.”

Each word is like glass shards in my throat.

He sits on the bed and gestures to the bathroom door. “Yell if you need anything.”

I most definitely will not. There are some boundaries that I don’t think I can cross. Peeing in front of someone I had sex with is one of them.

When I come out, the guys are all sitting on the edge of the bed. I pause in the doorway as they chat in low voices.

“They weren’t able to locate them,” Seth says, shaking his head as he looks at his phone.
