Home. Yes, that is what it is now. Wolfsfoot is now my home, specifically the farm with Lykos and Akela, my Poppa and Momma.
Yes, we have parents now. Have good home.
‘Yes, we do Ebony.’ I can’t help the smile that crosses myface, because I feel at last like I belong.
We have bestie too. I hear Ebony say, and my smilebroadens when I also hear the growly laugh that she makes.
Chapter 16
TATIANA
Walking into the Spirit Walker Pack packhouse is rather nerve-wracking. A fewmales are walking around the entrance, watching us as they pass. Some withguarded looks, others with welcoming nods and smiles, but one female is givingus, rather me, a vicious look.
Flint leans down towards me and whispers. “That’s Lavender. She’s been after the Alpha’s son for two years. She’ll see you as a threat, buteveryone knows he’s not interested in her. He wants his fated mate, not achosen mate.”
“Well, she can have him, because I’m not interested in amate, now or in the near future.” Whispering back while maintaining eye contactwith Lavender. Ebony would never allow me to be subservient again, not afterall I went through while I waited for her to arrive.
Her wolf is sick of her, and her wolf spoke to me as wecame inside.
‘I didn’t know you could speak with another wolf when we arenot pack.’ I quickly say to Ebony.
I’m Alpha. I can link with some other wolves. We connectbetter than you do.
I can feel the arrogance coming from Ebony, and she israther regal. But boy, she’s not liking this Lavender at all. ‘What’s thewolf’s name?’
I do not tell you wolf’s name; she only speaks to me.
‘Okay, whatever.’
Turning to speak to Flint, he has an amused look on hisface. “You have so many expressions cross your face, Tati, that I’m going tohave to teach you how to guard what you’re thinking.”
Following Flint as he walks over to a tall double door onone side of the hall, I wait quietly as he knocks. ‘Come in’, is called andFlint opens the door and I follow him into a huge office.
Alpha Roman Walker is sitting behind a huge desk, andalthough I’ve met him before, his presence and his size is enormous. He has tobe 6’ 4”, short dark hair, dark eyes which are nearly black, and well-muscled.He keeps himself fit and ready to support his pack at all times.
Giving Flint a smile, he stands and holds his hand out, which Flint takes easily, and after shaking Alpha Walker turns to look at me.“Greetings, Tatiana, it’s good to have you here visiting. My mate the Luna islooking forward to spending time with you. Did you have a good trip here?”
“Thank you, I look forward to meeting the Luna and spendingtime with her. The trip was good up to the last little way when we had anencounter with a feral rogue.” I quieten and listen while Flint informs theAlpha what happened.
“My warriors didn’t tell me you’d had an issue. They broughtyou through to the packhouse, you say?”
Flint nods before responding. “Yes, they walked back with usand made sure we got here safely.”
The door opens, and a lady walks in, wearing jeans and ahoodie, espadrilles and has her hair piled in a messy bun. She comes to agrinding stop when she lifts her head from the tablet she’d been looking at.“Oh. Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you had the visitors with you. But,anyway, hello Flint, Tatiana, I’m Luna Cinder. I’ve so been looking forward tomeeting you. Come with me and I’ll get you settled in a room. Flint can catchup with us later when we eat in the dining room.”
The Luna is like a whirlwind, I’m looking over my shoulderat Flint as I’m being pulled out of the room and he’s got a huge amused smileon his face, whereas the Alpha’s smile is indulgent and full of love.
“Did you have a good journey?”
“It was okay until we met a feral rogue. He followed us along way. It was unnerving, but Flint dealt with him.” I didn’t tell her he’dkilled the rogue, and I don’t know what he did with the body.
“Oh my, that’s not good at all. We’ve had a couple of rogueslately come up to the border. They are not from your town, but Roman hasn’tbeen able to find out where they have been coming from.”
“The town is friendly on the whole. I’ve not seen any feralrogues, or any fighting going on of any description. To be honest, the town isgreat, though they are all rogue shifters.” I keep following the Luna untilwe’ve climbed two flights of stairs and walked down a long hallway.
“Here we are. I put you in here. This is the Alpha suites ofthe packhouse, but Roman wanted you near in case you needed us. He’s keen toget to know you and hopes you’ll learn as much as possible while you are here.”Luna Cinder gives a large smile as she opens the door and we walk inside thebedroom.
“Closet,” the Luna points at a door on one side of the room.“Bathroom, you’re not sharing the bathroom, so don’t be shy to use it.” I’mhappy about that because communal showers were always a bad experience for mewhile growing up.
