Watch Me (Private Listing #1)

I give Fox a little chuckle before I glance at Blake. His green eyes are on me once again, like he can’t figure me out. Honestly, I’m an open book. I’m happy to work hard and play hard. And more than happy to do both things with them.

We reach the apartment floor, and Blake gestures to me to open the door. I slide my access card. For a brief second, I worry it won’t work, but it unlocks. Breathing out in relief, I hold open the door for Fox and Blake to carry in the groceries.

When they finish, Blake grabs the door from me, and I meet his eyes.

“Take Fox back down and come put the groceries away.”

I nod, and Fox follows me into the elevator. When the elevator starts down, he glances over at me.

“You’re younger than the others were.” He tugs on the hair that covers his eyes.

“Oh?” The others. The ones that didn’t work out? What did they do wrong and how do I avoid doing that?

“Yeah, they were just as hot, but older than us by a few years, you know?” He leans against the elevator wall like he’s trying to be as cool as Blake. Fox isn’t unattractive, but he’s not like my new bosses. They are gorgeous and exude confidence and power.

“I didn’t know any of them,” I say, waiting for the elevator to reach the ground floor.

“You know, if you want, I can—‍” The elevator doors slide open.

“Nice to meet you, Fox.” I hold the side of the elevator, trying to discourage him from asking me out or continuing that train of thought.

“See you next week, Madison.” He waves to me with a wink.

I wave as the doors close and sag back against the wall. It’s been a long day, and these heels are still killing me. When the doors open on the apartment floor, I let myself in. I walk into the kitchen and Blake has all the groceries unpacked on the counter.

I slide my heels off before joining him. He just saw me play with my bare pussy. He can deal with me in no shoes.

“Okay.” I smile and stop beside him. “What’s not obvious about putting away groceries?”

“Not much.” Blake shrugs. “You just need to learn our way of organizing.”

We start with the refrigerated items and what goes in which drawer or what shelf and why. Noah likes his apples cold, while Seth prefers his in the bowl on the counter. The freezer is organized and so are the cabinets.

“I’m never going to remember all this.” I slide in the last box of pasta.

“It’ll become second nature soon.” Blake washes his hands in the sink and dries them on a towel.

I follow suit and dry my hands. He glances at the time on his phone.

“You have ten minutes before you need to work with Hope.” Blake doesn’t move from beside me.

He’s warm and so big compared to any other man I’ve been around. I don’t fight the urge to stay close to him. Isn’t that the point of this arrangement?

“Hope’s number is on my desk,” I mention, but make no move to head to the elevator. I’m still not sure he wants me. I don’t know if he will be part of this whole thing. But I want him.

Heaven help me, but I want all of them.

“We should head upstairs.” Blake finally breaks the fragile bond between us, moving toward the door. I follow him to the elevator and up to our offices. When the elevator doors open, his hand returns to the small of my back to lead me, which settles the turmoil a little for me.

At my desk, he pauses for a second. When I tilt my face up to his, his green eyes capture mine.

“You did well today.”

My insides warm from the praise. I’ll do anything he wants for more of that.
