“Oh, so you mean the little toy I left for you?”

“Little?” I squeak. “There is nothing little about this,” I whisper-shout, as if someone will overhear me and know that my boyfriend left a massive dildo as a gift for me!

“Why, thank you, Beastie.” He sounds too pleased with himself. “You are really good for my ego. And my cock.”

“What does your cock have to do with anything here? There is only this rubber one.”

“Hmm, you see no resemblance? They promised it would be the perfect match.”

My jaw drops and I keep whispering. “Matteo, you mean to tell me this is a replica of your cock?” Well, that last part is all squeaky and definitely not whispered.

“Sure is.”

“Jesus Christ.” I slap my hand to my face. “He got me his dick in a rubber form.”

“Well, I didn’t want you to forget me,” he says smugly. “But I can send you voice messages instead.”

“Shut up,” I grumble but there is a smile on my face.

This man…I swear.

“Good morning, Zoe and…” The doctor trails off, casting a glance at the sexy man by my side.

My boyfriend. For some reason, that word doesn’t really fit because Matteo is so much more than that but maybe I just need to get used to it.

“Matteo.” He extends his hand toward her with his dazzling smile that doesn’t fool me because the man has been nervously pacing this two-by-two room since we walked in, yet I watch my OB’s cheeks pink up.

I almost snort to myself. Typical.

“Nice to meet you, Matteo.” She clears her throat, tucking her hair behind her ear.

Oh, for fuck’s sake. I must make some sort of sound because her eyes snap to mine and the blush deepens as she quickly looks away from him, logging into her computer while Matteo silently shakes with laughter.

Yeah, my jealousy is so funny. So so hilarious. That’s okay, we’ll see who will be laughing later.

“So, how have you been?” Dr. Lane asks me. “Any discomfort? Lingering pain?”

“No, nothing like that. It’s been a pretty easy recovery.”

“Okay, I will take a look, to make sure you have healed properly.”

“Please do.” Matteo’s desperate impatience breaks through and the doctor is back to blushing.

“Give me just one moment to gather what I need.” She turns around, taking out gloves and lifts my gown, probing around my pelvis. “How is your baby doing?”

“Oh, she’s great. She’s with her grandma right now,” Matteo answers before I can, but at this point I am used to this. Used to him boasting about Mellie and her little accomplishments. And every time I hear it, my heart melts a little bit more for this man who never once treated her as anything less than his flesh and blood. “She’s the smartest little girl on the planet. She smiles already and sticks to her schedule. And you should hear her burps—” I slap his stomach, sending a glare his way.

“Not the burps again, Matteo.”

“What? They are impressive!”

The doctor chuckles. “I believe you. So, are you the father?” she asks not-so-shyly, and I give her the eye not-so-shyly.
