Sunshine Kisses

But an immediate shift occurred in the atmosphere when the door closed behind them. Laughter died in Abby’s throat as Erik’s lips grazed the collar of her shirt. His shirt.

‘Why did you throw this on tonight?’ His voice had lost its levity of a few moments before, now rough with want as they came closer to what had always been inevitable, even if it had felt impossible for so long.

Abby’s fingers slipped under Erik’s jumper, revelling in the smooth, warm skin she found there. ‘Because even though I was kind of pissed at you, you’re the only one I want comforting me when I’m upset.’

Erik groaned into her neck. ‘See, now if I say what I was thinking, I’m going to sound like a horny arsehole.’

Abby grinned as she tugged on his hair. His lips followed the movement, moving up to work at a spot under her ear that felt heavenly. ‘Don’t let me stop you.’ She wasn’t sure if she meant the kissing or the talking.

‘I wanted to say that I desperately need you not to be wearing anything right now, but for the record, you in my clothes is about the hottest thing ever. It’s always driven me a little crazy. Even when we were teenagers.’

‘So the other morning when you saw me in your—’

‘Torture,’ he confirmed, slipping the soft fabric off her shoulders and replacing it with the heat of his mouth.

Abby shrugged, letting the shirt fall to the floor. ‘I kind of like the idea of you being a horny arsehole. It’s nice knowing I can affect you like that.’

He was always so composed, putting so much work into remaining solid and together. She was dying to be the reason he came apart.

Hands slid down the sides of her body, coming to rest on the zip running down her lower back. He tugged at it roughly. ‘Then you’re going to love hearing all the fantasies I’ve had about this dress.’

She whimpered at his words, grabbing the soft knit of his jumper and pushing it up his chest, hoping he would take the hint. He did. Of course he did. He whipped it off in seconds.

More. She needed more.

‘Off,’ she grumbled, tugging at the band of his joggers.

Erik complied as quickly as he had on top and Abby’s mouth dropped open as she finally got to look at all of him. She snapped back to the moment when Erik reached for her dress again.

‘This is number four on the list,’ he muttered, slipping the delicate straps off her shoulders. ‘Number two is what we did earlier.’ He eased the fabric down over her hips and groaned when he saw she hadn’t bothered to replace the underwear he’d stolen. ‘Three is you riding me with the dress still on. But—another time.’

Erik pulled Abby close again, and she melted at the feeling of him with no more barriers between them.

‘Fucking finally,’ she whispered, echoing his words from the roof.

When she angled her hips further into him, Erik moaned and yanked her towards the bed. She landed on top of him, her hair falling in a golden curtain around them.

‘Hang on, we should…’ Erik groped blindly towards his bedside drawers, just out of reach. ‘Condoms. In there. Could you?’

Abby made no attempt to move. ‘I have an IUD. And I’ve been tested since… Well. If you want—’

‘Fuck. Yes. Yes,’ Erik breathed, eyes wide enough for her to drown in. ‘There’s so much I want to do to you. I don’t know where to start.’

‘Erik, please—’ Abby whimpered. His hardness pressing into her thigh only made her more desperate for him.

‘I’ve been thinking about this for a decade, Abby. I want to take my time.’ His voice was like sandpaper.

‘We can take our time tomorrow. We can take our time forever.’

He was kissing her shoulder again, and she felt the scrape of his stubble as he smiled against her skin.

‘But this whole fucking week has been extended foreplay and—and I really, really need you inside me,’ she finished quickly.

The fingers stroking her hips stilled and tightened. ‘As you wish, Sunshine.’ Erik rolled them so he was on top and sank slowly into her. His mouth dropped open. ‘Holy shit, baby. I’m gonna need a second.’

‘Baby?’ Talking. Talking was good. Talking might distract her from the completely overwhelming sense of him. The feeling of fullness where their bodies met. His breath coming in pants against her. That clean smell she always wanted to envelop herself in, so potent with so much of his skin bared.

She was glad he needed a pause. It might kill her when he started moving.
