My hands lifted instantly, hauling her into me and across the threshold. I kicked the door closed and pinned her against it, fervently kissing her with all the pent-up yearning that had been building over the weeks we’d been apart.
Lightning zipped under my skin with the feel of her hot mouth on mine. I sucked her bottom lip between my teeth, pulling a moan from her lips. My hands dipped under her sweater, across the smooth planes of her stomach, and up to cup her breasts.
“Wait,” she murmured against my mouth, and I pulled back.
Right. Maybe a sex frenzy wasn’t the best thing right this second.
“Keep thinking what you’re thinking.” She panted. “But I need to tell you something first.”
She wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me against her as if she needed every part of us to touch. I rested my forehead against hers, loving the way our warm breaths coalesced.
“I know we’ve been through a lot in a short amount of time,” she whispered. “And I know you have every reason not to trust me, but I promise you, Harlow, I swear on my magic and the Moon Goddess and this burning feeling in my chest, I swear I will never, ever lie to you again.”
Those rich hazel eyes lifted to meet mine, so close our noses nearly touched. I wanted to bridge the distance, but she pulled her head back to look deep into my eyes.
“And I know it’s too early to say this, but I have to. I don’t want to live wishing I’d told you.” Her eyes blazed, sending something like terror and excitement into my veins.
I sucked in a sharp breath, waiting for whatever it was she thought was more important than taking off our clothes and commencing our reunion in the best way I could imagine.
“I love you,” she said, and my whole world shattered and fused back together anew. “With every ounce of my soul, I love you.”
My hands bracketed her face, and I pulled her into another kiss. My heart was exploding in my chest, my stomach doing flips, and fireworks lighting up my soul as I broke our kiss for just long enough to say, “I love you too.”
She smiled against my lips.
I scooped at the backs of her knees and pulled her up. Tender legs wrapped around my waist as I walked us toward my room. We were going to make up for all the time we’d lost being apart.
Her fingers raced through my hair, but once the door shut, they eagerly pulled at my shirt buttons. I laid her down on the bed and pulled her sweater over her head. Her long mahogany locks flowed down her bare chest, making my mouth water.
Fuck, she was more beautiful than I remembered.
In a blink, our clothes lay in a pile on the floor and she was pulling at my wrists until I was lying beside her. My thighs spread for her as my back hit the soft sheets and two eager fingers found my throbbing center. A hungry moan left my lips as our eyes met.
“I missed you so much,” she breathed, the heat of lust in her eyes igniting an inferno low in my belly.
“Show me,” I taunted.
A wickedly sultry smile tipped her lips before she lowered herself until her head was at the place where her fingers were already building my pleasure. She alternated between sucking and rolling her tongue over my needy nerves, the desperation and relief I felt knowing that she was really here taking me higher, faster. I couldn’t believe this was real. Jordyn was between my legs, unraveling sweet pleasure within me until I could feel the rising orgasm fill my chest and overflow into my limbs. Every muscle in my core tightened until two fingers plunged deep inside of me. One moment, my head was swimming in the heat of the moment, and the next, every nerve ending was awoken with electricity.
Images of the night she’d saved me flashed behind my tightly closed eyelids. Her magic filled the room like it had then, the static charge and overwhelming buzz bringing me crashing into a climax bigger than life itself.
“Holy fuck, Jordyn.”
Her touch had been addicting before, but this . . . this was something new. How could I possibly ever live without this every chance we got?
Jordyn kissed up my stomach, breasts, and neck until our lips finally met. Her sweet kiss was still glossed with my release. I needed this woman more than air or sunlight or the ruined and repaired heart in my chest. Maybe I should become nocturnal like other residents of Maple Hollow just so this little witch and I could spend our days tangled up in sheets.
My hands moved up and down her body to memorize each curve. The small dimples on her lower back were a precise fit for my fingertips. Her breasts fit perfectly in my cupped hands. The slope of her neck to her jaw was just the right angle for my palm to bring our kiss deeper.
Through the haze of utter love drunkenness, all I could hear was our tandem breathing. The world outside was calm and slow. I’d decided that staying in this little monster town was worth a real shot. I’d thought falling for the first person I’d met here had been a bad omen, but now I knew it was fate.
Fate.
God, maybe I believed in that too now. It wasn’t too wild to believe with a girlfriend who could literally shoot pure energy from her hands and make me come so hard, I swore I heard angels singing.
What else could Jordyn make me believe in with another tangle around the sheets?
“What are you thinking about?” she asked between soft kisses.
