Personally, I don’t give a shit what anyone might think. But she does.

We’re led to the back, to the big, curved booth that’s both tucked away and a place where I can keep an eye on the restaurant.

“Are we playing?” she asks as we sit.

I flick a glance at her. “Sit closer, Rabbit. I might feel like some snacks. But we’re having dinner.”

“You want snacks and dinner—oh.”

“Oh. Skirt up, pussy exposed.”

“I’m not?—”

I reach down as the waiter appears, and under the table with the heavy cloth, I flip her skirt and shove a finger into her.

“What do you want to drink, Poppy?”

She swallows hard and grips the table’s edge, an amused grin creeping up at the corners of my mouth.

“Nineteen-ninety Bordeaux,” she says, shooting me a taunting gaze. It’s almost three thousand dollars a bottle.

Well-played.

“I’ll have the bourbon,” I say. I keep my eyes on Poppy as I ask the waiter, “Do you have rabbit on the menu?”

“We do, sir.”

“Great. We’ll both have that.”

“Ah, no, thanks.” Rabbit shoots me a dark look. “The lamb for me.”

When our orders are in and the waiter leaves, she looks at me. “Rabbit?”

“It’s on the menu. And you, my little vermin, will be paying with your ass for that wine.”

“Is this your fucked up version of a date?”

I laugh. “I don’t date, Rabbit. I fuck. I hunt. That’s it. And sometimes, I like to show off my prize.”

“I’m not a prize. And I’m definitely not yours.”

I coil the hand that’s not finger fucking her in her hair, draw her in close, and bite down on her lip. “I’m going to wind you up and sit you on my cock and fuck you in this restaurant. What do you say to that, Rabbit?”

POPPY

“That you’re an asshole.”

“We’ve established that, rabbit. Are you going to ride me in front of the very rich?”

“The very corrupt, you mean.”

He grins at that, and the filthy gleam in his eye spikes my emotions.

“Rabbit, you’ll sit there,” he murmurs, leaning in, mouth almost brushing mine, “and smile and eat your expensive dinner and drink your vintage wine with the outrageous price tag.”
