Maggie shook Willow’s hand. “I know you’re in the wedding, but I have some grandchildren who are coming to the wedding. I bet they’d love to play with you.”

Chelsea, Ciara and Crawford joined Maggie to welcome the wedding party and to give advice on the weekend’s activities.

Linda St. James walked down the driveway toward the inn and Maggie.

“Hello Linda,” Maggie said.

“Hey, Maggie. I only have a minute, so I won’t keep you. I just wanted you to know that the islanders want to welcome both brides and their grooms for a block party tonight down on Andy Rosse. It’s informal, it’s just a bunch of people wanting to participate in this wonderful occasion.”

“That’s so sweet of you and everyone. I expect most of the wedding party to be here so I’ll make sure to let everyone know to head down the road and enjoy the street party.”

Linda handed two white and gold sashes to Maggie.

“Here, please tell the brides to wear these when they come. We got them especially for the brides. I think they’ll enjoy wearing them. Well, I best be off. Nancy Garner wants me to sample her blueberry pie. She says it’s the best on the island. Toodles!”

Maggie smiled and waved. “Toodles to you too.”

Chelsea walked over to Maggie and asked, “What did Linda St. James want?”

“Apparently, the islanders have decided to have a wedding celebration block party for the brides and grooms. She wants me to make Beth and Becca wear these tonight.”

“Ooh, I can’t wait to see their faces when you tell them that.”

Gabriel, Beth, Michael, Brea and their kids arrived at the inn at the same time. Followed by Lauren and her family and Becca and Christopher. Sarah, Trevor and their kids joined everyone and when the Porsche 911 Carrera pulled up alongside everyone, Maggie instinctively knew who was inside.

Grandma Sarah jumped out of the car and her boyfriend Winston got out and followed her into the group.

“Grandma!” Christopher yelled. “Look at you!”

Grandma Sarah twirled around for everyone to see her white on white mini skirt and jacket.

“You like? I think it makes me look young, especially with my tan.”

Christopher laughed and everyone joined in hugs and kisses.

“Everyone, this is my friend Winston Everett Brooks. Winston. There are too many of you to name, so you all introduce yourself and get acquainted while I go talk to my daughter.”

Maggie laughed. “You certainly know how to make an entrance. How are you doing?”

They hugged. “Maggie, dear, I’m doing great. I think everyone, especially people my age should run around the globe if they can do it. My skin has never looked better.”

Lauren sneaked up next to her grandmother. “Why don’t you tell Mom about your tattoo?”

“Tattoo? Oh, Mom, you didn’t,” Maggie said.

“I did indeed, and I’ll show you later. Right now, I’m thirsty. Is there anything to drink around here?”

Chelsea stepped up to answer her, “Follow me, Mrs. Garrison. I have just what the doctor ordered.”

CHAPTER 25

The Day Before the Wedding

Beth and Becca looked at the sashes and then at Maggie. “You’re kidding, right?” Beth asked.

“What can I tell you? Linda St. James made a huge deal out of Becca months ago by making this big announcement in the local paper that there was going to be a big splash of a wedding and everyone should come out and support her. After Linda and I had a few words…”

Sarah interrupted her mother, “Correction, after Mom told her that you and your wedding was just as big a deal as Becca’s.”
