Boss Me (Private Listing #3)

Coop draws his fingers out and leans down to kiss me, taking the taste of us into his mouth. He stands and shakes his head. “Get showered and dressed. You need to be upstairs in—‍” He glances at his watch. “Now you have ten minutes.”

Smiling, I shake my head. How much time did I begin with? Standing, I head into my bathroom, determined to get ready for the day. Bare feet pad up behind me as warmth closes in on me. I turn to the mirror to see Noah. I lean back into him, and he takes me in his arms.

“Shower?” He kisses the top of my head. His hard cock presses against my ass.

I catch his dark eyes in the mirror. I’m pretty sure this shower will take longer than ten minutes.

Chapter 94

Hard Stop

Blake

It’s a working Saturday, meaning this week got away from us and now we’re paying for it. We also have to go down to the police station to give statements. Fuck. Something I wish we didn’t have to do.

Madison sits quietly at her desk working. We let her and Noah sleep in but should have sent someone besides Coop to go get them if the smug smile on his face is any indication.

The door buzzes. The building is locked up tight. I disabled all key cards except ours, so if someone plans to come in and work, they’ll need to ask to be let in. While it’s the right thing to do, given Madison’s stalker got in on a weekend, it’s annoying as fuck.

I pull up the security feed and see Patrick Beck at the door. Clicking on the intercom, I say, “I’ll come down and get you.”

I won’t be getting any more work done until we return, so I close out of my computer. This week has been a mess. When I walk out my door, Madison lifts her head to look at me.

Today, she wears jeans and a long-sleeved blouse. Her hair is pulled into a bun with golden tendrils falling around her face. She’s not wearing makeup, but she doesn’t need it. She’s just as stunning as she was last night dripping in gold and diamonds.

“Good morning.” When she smiles, it’s like sunshine cutting through the clouds on a gloomy day. My heart kicks up a notch. I’m a fool for this woman.

“Patrick is here.” I gesture to the elevator.

“Oh.” She straightens and her hand goes to where a necklace would hang, but she’s not wearing one. Her fingers linger for a second, then fall to her lap. “We’re going to the police station soon?”

I nod. It’s not what we wanted to accomplish today. I hope this whole stalker thing is over and we can get on with our lives. But something doesn’t sit right about this whole thing.

Getting in the elevator, I think over all the facts we have so far and how those might point to a professor in college who wanted Madison and couldn’t have her. Then attacks her at the benefit?

So far, her stalker has been meticulous, and that attack seems out of character.

I walk across the lobby toward the door and push it open for Patrick.

“Thank you for coming in.” I lock the door behind him.

“Not a problem. Besides being your lawyer, I’m a witness and need to give a statement too.” Patrick follows me to the elevator. “They think that guy is the stalker? The same one that sent the dress?”

I’d almost forgotten Patrick was in our office that day.

“Yeah.” I push a hand through my hair as the elevator heads up. “He was her teacher and made passes at her.”

“Do we know why he was at the benefit?”

“The college had a table.” I lean back against the wall and watch the numbers creep by. “Why would a guy like that risk his job over an attempted assault?”

Every other move the stalker made was calculated. This just seems sloppy.

“The guy was drunk. Maybe he saw an opportunity and grabbed it.” Patrick shrugs and the elevator stops on the office floor. “We’ll just have to wait and see if they catch the guy.”

I lead Patrick toward the conference room. Madison stands and smiles as we pass her. When Seth comes out of his office, he shakes Patrick’s hand before going over to Madison. He guides her into the conference room with his hand on the small of her back.

When everyone is in the conference room, Patrick leans back in his chair and watches us. “A few things to clear up first. If you don’t mind?”
