Boss Me (Private Listing #3)

“But wow, Cooper’s hot. Good job.”

I’m not usually a bathroom talker, so I let out an acknowledging sound.

“Could you imagine being in a Cooper and Madison sandwich though?” Kayla’s voice is loud.

My eyes widen and I release a huff of breath. I’ll need to learn more about Blake’s sister next time Blake and I are alone. I’m definitely not interested in being in any “sandwich” unless it’s between two of my men.

Sara laughs. “You aren’t very shy, are you, Kayla?”

“Not a single bone in my body.” The toilet next to mine flushes and the door squeaks open. Kayla’s voice moves farther away. “Though I think Madison might be a little shy.”

The sink runs. Not with my guys I’m not, but I don’t want to accidentally slip up. Especially around these women.

“Not particularly,” I say.

“She’s just quiet,” Sara offers.

Both our toilets flush at the same time. We open our doors and head to the sinks.

Kayla steps next to me and I almost shrug back.

“Chill. I just want you to know that Blake told me about your situation, and I completely understand.”

I swallow. Blake said Kayla would stay with me on bathroom runs, so I assume she means the stalker.

She sighs and leans against the sink. “I had one in high school. A chick, if you can believe it. Makes sense though. She saw all this and got obsessive on my ass.” Her gaze takes me in. “I could see why someone would want to haunt your steps.”

Definitely the stalker. Not my other situation that includes all my bosses. “It’s been a little traumatizing.”

“Damn, you have a stalker?” Sara closes in on us and says it softly enough that no one else will hear.

“Yeah, and he sent her a cut-up dress coated in red with pics of her over the years wearing it.” Kayla’s eyes widen for effect. “Blake also mentioned videos, but he wouldn’t tell me what was in them.”

Both their green eyes land on me. I step away and dry my hands. Yeah, I’m not going there. “They weren’t friendly videos.”

“That’s so messed up.” Sara shakes her head. “If you need someone in town, let me give you my number. Seriously, you might need somewhere no one would expect you to go.”

I squint my eyes at her. “Why are you being so nice?”

She straightens. She can’t be any taller than Hope, but she seems just as fierce. “We have to stick together in this business world. I know we don’t know each other very well, but there have been times I wish someone would have reached out to me. So…”

She shrugs her delicate shoulders and holds out her hand for my phone. I take it out of my purse and hand it to her.

“Oh, I’m getting in on this. I think Blake is seeing someone on the down-low, but he refuses to tell me about it.” Kayla reaches for my phone when Sara finishes.

Heat rises in my cheeks. “I wouldn’t know about Blake’s life outside of work.”

Kayla laughs. “Yeah, right. You all live together. I mean if I were you, I’d be too busy with Coop to notice. So if you don’t notice anything, I wouldn’t blame you.”

“I don’t know who I would choose among those guys.” Sara gazes off dreamily. “I mean, Noah is definitely a keeper, but there’s something about each of them that revs my engine.”

I raise an eyebrow at how close she is to the truth.

“Ew, Blake’s my brother. Seth is like a brother too.” Kayla leads the way back out to the ballroom. “I hope you two don’t mind slow dancing with a chick, because I won’t be dancing with my brother.”

Sara giggles. “Get enough wine in me and I’ll slow dance with just about anyone.”

“I love a challenge.” Kayla locks arms with Sara before turning to me. “Come on, I know you like the cock, but live a little. Chicks can be fun too.”
