Boss Me (Private Listing #3)

“Mmm.” Sara puts her water down. “Them and Finn Lawson.”

She gives a little shiver and her cheeks flush with color. Okay, that’s interesting. Or maybe my situation colors how I look at hers. After all, before my guys, I never would have thought being with four men at the same time was honestly an option. For the time being, our situation works because we all desire each other, but without love, it can’t work long-term.

But Sara likes Wyatt, so maybe he’s the focus of her attention. When my gaze falls on Noah, he smiles. Noah loves me, but could I be with just him and watch the others find love without me?

Coop squeezes my hand. I can’t picture him with anyone else. I can’t honestly picture myself with anyone but all of them. Am I just being greedy? Wanting them all because I’ve had them all?

“Oh, Kayla said she’d be in town the week after next. We should all go out for drinks.” Sara pauses as the waiter sets our drinks in front of us.

“What can we get for you tonight?” he asks.

I look at the menu while everyone else orders. I pick something at the last minute. When I lift my gaze to smile at the waiter and hand him the menu, my gaze stalls on Seth and Elizabeth.

My heart pounds. He’s smiling with his glass of scotch raised to his lips. His fingers are tangled with hers on the table. My breath catches.

He’s smiling.

He’s smiling for her. A lump forms in my stomach and sears the back of my throat. I have to get away.

“If you’ll excuse me, I need to powder my nose.” I push back from the table and quickly head for the restrooms.

I duck into the women’s bathroom and take a deep breath while leaning my hands on the counter. I’m so pathetic. He’s doing this for me. I meet my own eyes in the mirror, noting my pale face. He’s doing this for me. I need to grow the fuck up. This is just part of being in a relationship with these guys.

Appearances mean everything in the business world.

Drawing in a breath, I look up to stop the emotions from spilling down my face. Blowing out my breath, I try to let go of this hot, burning feeling welling inside me. It’s okay. It’s going to be okay.

“Are you okay?” Sara closes the door behind her and steps up to the sink next to me.

“Yes, I’m sorry. I just…” How do I explain I’m jealous that one of my men is out on a date when I’m out on a date with two other men? While another of my men is at home waiting for me?

Unfortunately, I can’t, so I shrug.

“You can talk to me if you need to. If I know anything, it’s how frustrating men can be.” Sara opens her compact and takes out her lipstick. “I mean, it’s one thing to have a crush on my brother’s best friend. It’s another for his other best friend to flirt with me constantly. And then the third one to try to run my life like I’m his responsibility. So yeah, men, pfft, who needs them?”

“They’re good for some things.” I lean against the counter and watch her apply lipstick.

“I think Kayla has the right idea. Her girlfriend sounds amazing.” Sara slides her lipstick back into her purse and smiles before blowing out a breath. “If only I didn’t like cock.”

She sighs like that’s a tragedy. I can’t help the laughter that escapes me. Sara grins.

“Look who I’m talking to. You’ve got two cocks.” She lowers her voice. “Seriously though, what’s that like?”

Both bathroom stall doors are open, and there’s no one else in here with us. “Amazing. Like seriously, amazing. When Coop and Noah decide to take me together? Panty melting.”

Sara’s eyes light up. “Seriously? Together? Like both at the same time?”

I blush and nod. It’s nice to be able to share at least that much.

“Fuck, I thought that only happened in books.” She shakes her head and then gets serious again. “Are you okay? Do you want to sit in here and talk for a while, or should we head back to your men?”

I draw in a deep breath and release it. “I think I’m ready to go back out there.”

Seth

Our dinner arrives, and Elizabeth has been droning on about whatever crosses her mind. I give up trying to have a conversation when Madison reappears at the table. Fuck, why did I put her in that dress?

Practically every man in the room watches her walk by. I sip what’s probably my fourth scotch. But it makes the evening a bit more tolerable. Madison laughs at something someone at her table said.
