Because being sober isn’t working.

“Oh my god, your dress is gorgeous.” Sara pulls me into her arms and hugs me like we’re already best friends. It’s weird and awkward, but I pat her back.

“Thank you.” When she releases me, I take in her almost fifties-style dress with a flared skirt and tight waist. “You look amazing.”

“Thanks.” She takes my hand and pulls me into a sitting room. Noah and Coop follow us. When we sit on the couch, the guys take chairs. “I wanted to talk to you all before we head to the restaurant tonight.”

Which is why we were inside her house, instead of on the way to the restaurant. Coop assured me the restaurant wouldn’t give away our reservation. He said it with the knowing smile of the rich.

“What’s this about, Sara?” Noah sits relaxed in the chair.

She sighs. “Okay, so the guy—‍” She turns to me. “Noah told you about the guy, right? The one I’m trying to get to notice me?” When I nod, she continues, “He’ll be there tonight, but he’s on a date with another woman. I told Noah he probably wouldn’t notice if I had sex with another guy in front of him.”

My cheeks heat, thinking about how many times I’ve had sex with someone else in front of my guys. Sure, they were all in on it, but they definitely took note or joined in.

“Okay? Why are you telling me this?” I understand she’s trying to get someone’s attention, but why the cloak-and-dagger routine?

She looks at Noah before her gaze comes back to mine. She glances at Coop briefly. “Uh, Kayla said something might be going on with you and Noah. And Noah said he had someone. And if there is something going on, I didn’t want you to think I’m after him. Trust me, I have enough man problems to deal with with this other guy.”

“Uh…” What do I say to that? The engagement ring is on my finger. It’s not like I’ve said anything to make her believe I’m with them both. Plus, there’s the NDA.

“It’s okay, Madison.” Coop sits forward. “There are enough pieces of the puzzle for Sara to figure out you’re with us both.”

Noah leans back. “It’s not public information. Obviously, we don’t want this getting out because it could hurt Madison’s future.”

Sara nods and turns to look at me again. Her hand rests over mine. “Seriously, it’s okay. I’m not planning on spilling the beans to anyone else. I want to be friends. I need more friends in my life. My brother’s friends think I’m their responsibility, but that also means they scare away my friends.”

This I understand. Well, not the brother’s friends part, but definitely about making new friends. “It’s not like I’m just fucking around with them.”

“I love Madison.” Noah doesn’t hesitate to spill that information. My heart trips in my chest. My gaze darts to Coop who doesn’t look shocked at all. His blue eyes meet mine, and it’s a silent acknowledgment that it doesn’t bother him.

Sara beams. “That’s awesome. I’m so glad you have two guys who love you.”

I automatically open my mouth to deny that Coop loves me, but Coop speaks first. “But it’s an unconventional relationship that most people wouldn’t understand. It’s important to keep it to ourselves.”

“Of course.” She leans into me. “And I’ll have plenty of questions to ask you later.”

“We should go.” Noah stands and straightens his jacket.

“This is so romantic.” Sara grabs Noah’s arm and turns back to me. “You get to go out with both your guys, and I get to be part of it.”

“She’s definitely lucky.” Coop reaches a hand down to help me up. His blue eyes meet mine, and he gives me a small smile. “After all, she gets to be with two men who love her.”

I’m in shock. The entire way to the restaurant, the conversation swirls around me while I sit there replaying what Coop said on repeat.

She gets to be with two men who love her.

Was he just saying that to reiterate what Sara said? Or does he mean it? Does he love me?

“What would you like to drink, miss?”
